The parties were great, but the other Broncos wives were really what made my time in Colorado special. We all loved one another. It was a true sisterhood. From this group of incredible ladies, I met two of my closest friends. Nikki Colquitt, wife of Broncos punter Britton Colquitt, and Veronica Woodyard, married to Broncos linebacker Wesley Woodyard, are two women I’ll be friends with for the rest of my life.

We were all pregnant at the same exact time with our babies. Luckily Nikki already had a baby when I was pregnant with Vivi (she was pregnant with her second). She was really helpful, offering that crucial advice every woman needs from a mom who’s already been through the experience. Once while I was over at her house, she was on her knees, folding all the clothes she had just washed for the new baby, when she looked up at me.

“Have you washed all the baby’s clothes yet in Dreft?” she asked.

No, I hadn’t. I didn’t even know that was a thing.

“You have to,” she said.

It’s such a simple thing, but I would have come home from the hospital to find all the baby’s clothes still hanging in the closet with the tags on them.
